She Cried When He Took Her Hearing Aids! UPDATE on Aizzy! March 20 2014

UPDATE on Aizzy!

April 20 2014

In the newsletter below, we told you about Aizzy in need to hear. She had never heard until we sent her to the Dr. He cleaned her hears over several visits and now with the help of Hearing Aids she can hear, well! But she only heard for the first time in the Dr. Office when he put Hearing Aids in her ears to test her hearing and then the Dr. had to take the hearing aids back.

We needed $2000 to get her a pair of Hearing Aids. Many of you responded and we raised $1200. Thank you all, and thank you Lord.

We still need $800.

Let's get Aizzy hearing for the rest of her life!

Please let me know you are contributing to Aizzy and
we'll get her the Hearing Aids soon.

Aizzy Jarquio is 9 years old. Her family attends Victory Christian Church in Sugnod Malinao, Aklan. Victory Christian Church is one of our River Rock Churches Philippines.

Sugnod is a remote community that was one of the hardest hit from Super Typhoon Yolanda. This week we are finally able to get supplies there to rebuild the church, many homes and partner with the Barangay Captain to repair the bridge to give access once again to the Barangay.

We started the church there almost 2 years ago under police escort for the launch concert because of political factions. Today we are a vital part of health and hope of the community. “No one has every helped us before” has been a repeated, tearful, expression from the people.

Sugnod has been peaceful for us and very cooperative as the church and community leaders have become a partner in the care of the people.

Our Lord, through your generosity, has provided material, medical, and spiritual support. While Kelly was here, last month, we baptized 12 people in the river.

Aizzy Jarquio
Aizzy Jarquio is one of the girls we are in the process of providing medical aid and hope. She has been deaf since birth. She is 9 years old and a bright second grader. Despite being totally deaf, she has learned to read lips, read and write, and math.

I asked her father, Francisco Jarquio, to take her to the doctor and have her ears examined. This has never been done before as they are very poor. Only $35 provided her first medical examination and medicine to begin a regimentation of medications and several ear cleanings. With each cleaning, it became clear that her deafness could be reversed.

Her first words were Papa and Mama.
Last week after the final ear cleaning the doctor put hearing aids in both ears, and she hears very well! Her first words were Papa and Mama.

Then the Doctor had to take the hearing aids back. After 9 years of silence and hearing for the first time she had to give them back and continue in silence.

One of the Hearings aids, the doctor showed them, were small and make automatic adjustments to indoor and outdoor environments. This set is about $2000. There is also an ongoing cost of batteries. Maybe they make a rechargeable one.

If someone will help financially, we will shop for the best Hearing Aids, and the best price.

Can you imagine hearing for the first time at 9 years old and then having to live again in silence?

Thinking of Aizzy, brings enormous emotions to me and great, earnest prayers to our Lord for His provision and blessing.

Can you help give hearing to Aizzy?
